UP’s shorter-than-expected shorts one of the distraction Maroons had to go through

Besides some off-court injuries, the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons also had another problem on the eve of their season debut.

The shorts delivered to the Fighting Maroons were… Let’s just say smaller than what they expected. These were not the usual short shorts that have been a trend the past few years.

“That was a distraction too,” admitted UP head coach Bo Perasol.

Still, Perasol used this ordeal as a source of motivation for his squad. He even threw a jab at his own uniform in the process.

“I told them that if they’re gonna be distracted by the short shorts then I’m gonna have to feel distracted too, with this skinny shirt that I have,” he quipped.

UP went on to take a 61-55 win over the FEU Tamaraws to open their campaign on a high note.

Come Saturday, Perasol hopes that the shorts of his team will be back to normal.

“It was just a lapse. We were distracted at the beginning, but we have to go through that also.”
