Nic Cabanero, Forthsky Padrigao lead Zamboanga’s Dubai quest

Work will begin early for the University of Santo Tomas duo of Nic Cabanero and Forthsky Padrigao.

The two Tigers are set to lead the Zamboanga Valientes in their debut appearance at the 34th Dubai Basketball International Championship.

Cabanero and Padrigao, both former members of the UAAP Mythical Team, are coming off a strong performance in UST’s bronze finish in Season 87.

Now, they aim to guide the Valientes in their first 5-on-5 tournament in the Middle East.

Joining them are former UAAP MVP Malick Diouf and FEU legend Mike Tolomia.

Also signing with Zamboanga for this tournament, which begins on January 24, are former PBA players Kyt Jimenez, Prince Caperal, Rudy Lingganay, and Ken Holmqvist; and big man Sam Deguara.

The rest of the team will feature homegrown talents from Zamboanga, along with one more import.
