Nagoya-Ibaraki showdown postponed as Robots players test positive

Nagoya announced that its weekend showdown against Ibaraki has been cancelled.

The game would have taken place on Saturday and Sunday at Dolphin’s Arena.

Last weekend, Ibaraki faced Shimane at Matsue City Gymnasium.

After the league’s weekly testing, it emerged that eight Robots players have tested positive for COVID-19.

The Diamond Dolphins will announce the new schedule of the game in the coming days.

Ray Parks and Nagoya are 18-8 in the standings – tied for second in the west. Javi Gomez de Liaño and Ibaraki, on the other hand, are 5-21 in the east.

On January 22 and 23, Nagoya will host Hokkaido (11-15). Meanwhile, Ibaraki takes on Hiroshima (16-10) at Matsue City Gymnasium.
