PHNOM PENH – ECHO closed in on its first Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup finals appearance after taking down Todak, 3-1, in the quarterfinals at the Aeon Mall Mean Chey here, Friday.
Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Lancelot) delivered a brilliant performance on Lancelot, leading ECHO to a commanding 18-4 victory in Game One, which lasted only 13 minutes and 11 seconds. He finished with five kills and six assists without dying in the opener.
Todak quickly recovered from the loss and secured a come-from-behind 14-23 victory in Game 2 after 21 minutes of gameplay.
Following the setback in the second match, ECHO displayed another impressive performance in Game 3, securing a 19-4 triumph in nearly 14 minutes of action. Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales (Wanwan) led the team with seven kills and eight assists without a single death.
ECHO then clinched the series with an exciting victory in Game 4.
ECHO will advance to the semifinals, where they will face the winner of the EVOS Legends-ONIC Esports match-up at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
