MSC: Donut leads Burn X Flash to KO stage

Mariusz “Donut” Tan starred Burn X Flash sealed the second seed in Group C after eliminating Outplay, 2-0, to advance to the knockout stage of the 2023 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup at the Aeon Mall Mean Chey in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Tuesday.

Donut (Claude) took a page out of Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales’ playbook, initiating a surprise segue play to help Burn X Flash draw first blood in the series against the North America representatives.

Burn X Flash used the Lord as bait which forced Outplay to put all of its manpower near the Lord pit. Unfortunately, Donut found an opening in the middle lane to push the inhibitor tower and eventually, the base.

Sok “C Cat” Roth (Novaria) led the way with a game-high four assists along with a death in the low-scoring 5-3 win in 14 minutes and nine seconds while Donut had a kill and three deaths.

Donut led the way for Burn X Flash, scoring seven kills and six assists against two deaths on Lesley in the 19-12 Game 2 win in 15 minutes.

Outplay, which replaced BloodThirstyKings at the last-minute, will go home after losing two of their group stage matches.
