Blacklist International qualified to the 2023 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup after eliminating Egypt’s Team Occupy, 2-0, at the Aeon Mall Mean Chey in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Monday night.
The Tier One backed squad, which currently stands at 1-0, picked up a point after the win over Team Occupy. The latter, unfortunately, suffered its second consecutive loss in Group D which booted them out of contention.
Blacklist International will face off against MPL Malaysia champion Todak on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. for the top seed in the pool.
The three-time MPL PH champion squad struggled in the early goings of Game 1 but Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo’s Valentina was able to make the right plays to keep Blacklist International at bay. With Yue taking the lead, Blacklist International was able to bounce back and take the win over Team Occupy.
Yue finished with five kills and 12 assists in the 18-6 Game 1 win in 14 minutes and 12 seconds. The reigning MPL PH Rookie of the Season is the only player from Blacklist International to not record a death in the contest.
Blacklist International submitted a much better performance in Game 2, scoring a 17-7 win to close the series via sweep.
Edward “Edward” Dapadap (Benedetta) took charge with a 4-1-4 KDA line.
