Jerson Cabiltes has netted one of the most sought-after prospects in the NCAA.
Cyrus Nitura has completed his transfer from University of Perpetual Help System DALTA to Emilio Aguinaldo College.
And Cabiltes, a decorated head coach, could not help but be elated that Nitura chose EAC.
“We’re very happy; we all know that Cyrus is a rising star in the NCAA, and many schools are pursuing him,” said the soft-spoken Cabiltes to Tiebreaker Times.
During his sophomore year with Perpetual, Nitura shone brightly, averaging 10.11 points, 6.83 rebounds, 3.78 assists, and 1.39 steals per game.
The 6-foot-4 forward will sit out one year before getting to play for the Altas in NCAA Season 101.
But during that sit-out period, he will also suit up for Nueva Ecija in the MPBL.
“Very important that he will play for us in the MPBL. He will not only gain experience at makikita ko paano siya gagamitin sa NCAA,” continued Cabiltes, as being a guest player with the Rice Vanguards is part of the comprehensive basketball program of the Generals.
“It’s going to be good competition for him.”
Come Season 101, he will join the likes of Jude Bagay, Wilmar Oftana, and former San Sebastian big CJ Shanoda.
“Definitely, Cyrus will be our main guy for Season 101.”
