MPLI: All MPL PH teams secure playoff berth

Reigning MPL Philippines champions AP.Bren headlined four Filipino teams that secured their spots in the playoffs of the MPL Invitational 2023 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Hornets finished with a perfect 3-0 record in Group A, securing their place in the upper bracket by dominating North America’s The Ohio Brothers, Indonesia’s Dewa United Esports, and Hong Kong’s Nova Esports.

RSG also swept their group stage assignments and will represent Group D in the playoffs, with Cambodia’s See You Soon featuring Filipino imports Michael “MP the King” Endino and Clarense “Kousei” Camilo.

Echo joined the upper bracket after successfully recovering from an opening day loss to the Indonesian side Bigetron Alpha. They achieved this by dismantling Rebellion Zion and Evos Legends, both from MPL Indonesia, in their final group stage matches.

M3 world champions, Blacklist International, secured their place in the playoffs after bouncing back from a tough loss at the hands of Malaysian champions Home Bois. They did so via a dominating sweep of Team Falcons and Geek Fam Indonesia, both teams also featuring Filipino imports.

The MPLI 2023 playoffs will commence on Friday, November 17.
