AP.Bren head coach Francis “Duckey” Glindro has become the latest member of the MPL Philippines Hall of Legends, as announced by the league on Sunday.
Duckey is one of the most successful Filipino coaches, initially achieving success with Indonesia’s EVOS Legends, where he helped the team secure the M1 World Championship title.
He made his first entry into the MPL Philippines in Season 5 with Bren Esports, leading the team to a third-place finish and claiming his first title in Season 6.
Duckey became the first Filipino coach to win the M-series world title by guiding Bren to a 4-2 victory in the grand finals over Myanmar’s Burmese Ghouls.
The year 2023 has been the most successful in Duckey’s career, as he assisted Sibol ML, composed of AP.Bren stalwarts, in defending the Southeast Asian Games gold medal in May.
In July, Duckey secured his second world title by leading Sibol ML to victory in the IESF World Championship in Iasi, Romania.
Just two days ago, Duckey also secured a return trip to the M-series World Championship after AP.Bren defeated Blacklist International in the upper bracket semi-finals.
The Hall of Legends is MPL’s equivalent of the Hall of Fame. Inductees are selected based on three criteria: their performance in the league, their contribution to the growth of the league and the MLBB community, and their legacy built on their achievements.
Duckey is the 12th inductee, joining the ranks of Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel, Carlito “Ribo” Ribo Jr., Christian “Rafflesia” Fajura, RSG Philippines Coach Brian “Panda” Lim, Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario, Jeniel “YellyHaze” Bata-anon, Jonmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna, Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno, Setsuna “Dogie” Ignacio, and Edward “EDWARD” Dapadap.
