TNC just sent a stern warning to the rest of the MPL Philippines field.
This, after the rookie-laden squad dismantled Omega Esports with ease, 2-0, to open its Season Nine campaign with a bang on Friday night.
TNC popped off right from the get-go, showing great discipline in Game One against the much-experienced Omega Esports that utilized a Diggie strategy to empower its gold lane.
With Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog (Diggie) guarding Duane “Kelra” Pillas’ Kimmy down the bottom lane, Jomarie “Escalera” Delos Santos made huge plays around the map on his Selena to give TNC the early lead.
It was all TNC from there, securing the Luminous Lord in the 15:20-mark while following it up with a five-man wipe anchored by Mark “Kramm” Rusiana’s Phoveus.
Escalera delivered a game-high 10 assists along with two kills in the 19-3 Game One win in 15 minutes and 54 seconds.
A perfect initiation capped off TNC’s huge Game Two performance.
Ben “Benthings” Maglaque (Chou) made the game-winning play in Game Two, using his Way of the Dragon-Flicker combo to knockout Ch4knu’s Ruby and kick-start the four-man wipe.
Robee “Yasuwo” Pormocille (Beatrix) capped off the chase with a triple kill.
Daniel “SDzyz” Chu led the way with four kills and six assists while Yasuwo had four kills and four assists against one death in the 8-5 win in 17 minutes and 56 seconds.
TNC will be back in action tomorrow at 8:00 PM against Blacklist International while Omega Esports looks to bounce back against ECHO on Sunday at 6:00 PM.
