MPL PH suspends OHEB for two games, hands $500 fine

Blacklist International star Kiel “OHEB” Soriano has been handed a two-game ban by the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines for his actions during the team’s 2-0 win against Omega Esports on Saturday night.

OHEB made an obscene gesture during the post-match celebration which violated the 12.2.1 section of the MPL rules.

Aside from the ban, a $500 fine was also imposed on the 17-year-old gold laner. Blacklist International also handed OHEB a separate, undisclosed amount of fine to the player.

“MPL-PH Operating Committee is aware of the abusive behavior made by OHEB of Blacklist International in W7D2, BLCK VS OMG. He has violated the following rule of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League – Philippines Season 8 Official Rules: 12.2.1. Making a prohibited pose,” opened the league’s statement.

“MPL-PH Operating Committee does not tolerate any form of abusive behavior in the league and we expect our professional players to follow a strict code of conduct.”

OHEB is set to miss the team’s clash against Bren Esports and their first playoff series.

Blacklist International already addressed the situation through an official statement while OHEB publicly apologized during the team’s post-match press conference.

“Let’s work together to build a more mature and professional league.”
