MPL PH postpones Season 8 due to ECQ


With enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) being implemented in Metro Manila from August 6 – 20, the production and broadcast of MPL Philippines Season 8 will be postponed to a later date.

This as during that time, only essential services are allowed to operate.

“The Regular Season will commence later, including the Playoff schedule as well,” read the statement of Moonton, the organizer of the league.

“The health and safety of the teams, partners, local staff, and communities is of utmost priority. The MPL Philippines team will adhere to all government guidelines and safety protocols and take extra precautions during the tournament to ensure the players’ wellness.”

MPL PH 8 was supposed to open its curtains on August 13. It was supposed to run until October 3.

There will be two matches every Friday, three matches every Saturday, and two matches every Sunday.

Competing teams are Blacklist International, Bren Esports, ECHO, ONIC PH, Smart Omega, TNC Pro Team, Nexplay EVOS, and RSG PH.
