MPL PH: New-look Minana scores breakthrough win at expense of RSG

Minana Evos unveiled a new lineup that finally broke a three-game losing streak by securing a 2-0 sweep against RSG Philippines in Week 2 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 12 at the Shooting Gallery Studios, Makati City.

Minana, which had lost its first two matches in sweeps, showed signs of life against Blacklist International a day earlier and used that momentum to secure their first win of the season.

They moved past Smart Omega into the 6th spot as they improved to 1-3 with four points.

The team integrated newcomers, explainer Jhon Marl “LordJM AR” Sebastian and midlaner Lance Walter “LanceCyAR” Cunanan, with last season’s core players, which made a significant difference in tonight’s series win.

“Actually nung last week pa nakaset yung plan kung sino ang papalaruin sa bawat game. Napagdesisyunan namin kagabi na mixed na din kaya yun ang line-up namin against RSG, ” revealed Minana head coach Jayson “Isonn” Casidsid.

“Dahil sa performance kanina, possible na ito na ang main line-up namin,” he continued.

Game 1 came down to an 18th-minute lord fight, where Jan “DomengAR” Delmundo (Claude) executed a timely Blazing Duet, helping Minana secure the lord and force a 4-0 trade-off to take the opener.

In Game 2, Bien “BoyetAR” Chumacera (Baxia) took the lead in Minana’s early game dominance, amassing a 6-1 kill lead late in the 4th minute. He already had a 2-0-4 KDA at that point.

Minana maintained their advantage and easily won with a 14-3 domination in the kill score, securing the victory in just 14 minutes.
