MPL PH: MINANA secures first back-to-back wins with sweep of ECHO

MINANA Evos successfully secured their first back-to-back wins, thanks to a 2-0 sweep of ECHO in Week 4 of the MPL Philippines Season 13 on Saturday at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City.

The White Tigers climbed to the fifth spot with 10 points. It was ECHO’s second loss in the last three games, settling for the third spot with 16 points, behind ONIC Philippines (18 points) and AP.Bren (18 points).

“Siguro dahil nasusunod namin yung practices namin, yung ban, lahat ng paikot ng pickings, kaya kami nanalo. Kumbaga kung ano yung ilalabas ng kalaban na hero, meron na kami sagot kaagad,” explained MINANA head coach Christian “Bitoy” Casten on the reason for their impressive showing against ECHO.

He further added that Naser “Dogie” Mollazehi and Julius “Banoobs” Mariano’s close supervision of the team helped them regain their bearings and secure their third win.

“Kung di dahil sa kanila, hindi malalabas yung sikreto na nilalabas namin ngayon. Nawala kasi yun after ng last season tapos naalala na lang dahil kay Boss D and Boss Ban. Naibalik namin yung rotation kung anuman yung piang-aralan last season,” Bitoy added.

In Game 1, MINANA erased a 3k gold lead early in the 10th minute courtesy of Jan “Domeng” Delmundo’s (Natan) solo kill on Alston “Sanji” Pabico (Novaria), which helped them score a 4-1 exchange plus the lord objective.

They wasted no time in forcing the issue minutes later as Domeng’s double kill late in the 11th minute touched off a 3-0 wipe that gave MINANA the space needed to execute a successful base turret siege, 1-0.

With momentum on their side, MINANA continued to dominate Game 2 with Domeng (Harith) leading the way.

He finished with a flawless 2-0-5 KDA to spearhead an 8-2 lead on the kill score.

MINANA will look to book their third straight victory in their rematch against cellar-dwelling TNC Pro Team on Sunday, April 14th.
