MPL PH: Echo still undefeated after sweep of Omega

Echo continued from where it left off, securing a 2-0 victory over Smart Omega in Week 2 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 12 at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City, remaining undefeated.

They have won all of their matches so far, including two sweeps, placing them at the top of the standings with eight points.

“Para sa amin sa coaching staff, maganda ang overall performance ng team. Malinis na ang kanilang laro. Sa Game 2, siguro kasama na ang swerte sa kasama ng lord. Kung titignan ang laro, iyon lang talaga ang makikitang kanilang nakuha (Omega),” said Echo head coach Archie “Tictac” Reyes about their series against Omega.

In a meticulous opener, Echo and Omega only combined for two kills until the 9th-minute lord fight, where Omega attempted to punish Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Baxia). However, Jaypee “JayPee” Dela Cruz’s (Angela) Heart Guard provided the sustain that enabled Echo to secure the lord and gain a 3-1 exchange.

From there, the defending champions didn’t look back, cruising to an easy victory by the 17th minute, with Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales (Ixia) boasting a 5-0-3 KDA.

In Game 2, Echo once again took control early in the game, but Andrew Lew “Andoryuuu” Flora (Lancelot) stole the 16th-minute lord, giving them some breathing room. However, JayPee (Franco) connected a crucial Iron Hook on Patrick “E2max” Caidic (Novaria) during an inhibitor turret siege, helping the Orcas reverse the situation a minute later to complete the sweep.

Omega suffered their second straight loss via sweep and fell to the 6th spot with three points.
