ECHO spoiled Kielvj “Kielvj” Hernandez’s Omega Esports return, coming out with a dominant 2-0 win for its second consecutive win in the MPL Philippines Season Nine, Sunday night.
The team is now tied with TNC at the top spot with identical 2-0 records and six points each.
Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno had a Paquito master class in the opener, taking charge in ECHO’s 19-3 Game One dominance over a sluggish Omega Esports side.
The M2 World Championship MVP made an early rotation down the bottom lane, taking out Renz “Renzio” Cadua’s Esmeralda with the help of Frediemar “3MarTzy” Serafico (Gloo).
That alone opened up a lot of opportunities for ECHO early in the game with 3MarTzy setting up timely kills in the first few minutes of the match.
ECHO never looked back from there with KarlTzy even securing a Maniac in the 9:47-mark of the match.
The former Bren Esports core scored 12 of ECHO’s 19 kills in the 19-3 Game One win in 15 minutes and 14 seconds. 3MarTzy, meanwhile, had a game-high 11 assists along with a kill.
It was the same story come Game Two. Only this time, it was Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera (Edith) and Jankurt “KurtTzy” Matira (Kagura) who kick-started the rally.
Yawi and KurtTzy were responsible for ECHO’s early kills which propelled the team to a 9-0 start.
3MarTzy (Yu Zhong) went deep during the siege which gave Omega Esports its first kill courtesy of Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog’s Mathilda.
KurtTzy collected four kills and four assists while Yawi had a game-high eight assists along with a kill in the 13-1 domination in just 10 minutes and 12 seconds.
Omega Esports, which suffered its second-straight defeat, remained last along with Blacklist International with identical 0-2 standings.
ECHO will gun for its third win against fellow undefeated squad TNC on Saturday at 4:00 PM while Omega Esports will look for its first victory against RSG PH later that day at 8:00 PM.
