MPL PH: Echo continues RSG’s woes, scores fifth straight win

ECHO surged to its fifth consecutive win, handing RSG PH its second straight loss via a 2-0 sweep in MPL Philippines Season Nine on Saturday night.

The team solidified its hold of the top spot with 14 points off an immaculate 5-0 standing.

RSG PH unleashed hell on ECHO in the early goings of Game One, but Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno’s Aulus, backed by Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera’s Diggie, peeled through RSG PH’s lead minute by minute to give his side its first gold lead of the game entering the 15th minute.

ECHO then secured the second Lord of the contest before bagging the Luminous one in the 15:57-minute mark. From there, the team ran over RSG PH’s defense en route to a rousing 1-0 lead.

KarlTzy ended up with four kills and seven assists without a single death in the 12-6 Game One win in 16 minutes and 53 seconds while Yawi registered a game-high seven assists along with a kill and three deaths.

It was a nip-and-tuck affair in Game Two with both teams exchanging the first and second Lords of the contest, but ECHO seemed to have gotten the upper hand as they took the Luminous one with Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales’ Beatrix securing the steal.

A team fight ensued past the 16th minute with ECHO securing the third Luminous Lord while also taking down two RSG PH members. ECHO then sealed the deal in the following siege.

Jankurt “KurtTzy” Matira finished with six kills, two deaths, and 10 assists on Pharsa while Frediemar “3MarTzy” Serafico’s Yu Zhong had a game-high 12 assists along with a kill and four deaths in the 19-12 Game Two win in 18 minutes and 46 seconds.
