MPL PH: Bren scores first season win at expense of Omega

Rowgien Stimpson “Owgwen” Unigo and Kyle “KyleTzy” Sayson took turns in leading Bren Esports to a dominant 2-0 victory over Smart Omega to secure their first win of the season in Week 1 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 11 on Sunday.

After succumbing to M4 World Champion Echo, Bren managed to score their first season win despite missing the services of Head Coach Francis “Duckey” Glindro.

Luckily, the team acquired former Bigetron Alpha Head coach Vrendon “Vren” Lin who took the reins while Duckey’s was away.

“Nung sinabihan ako ni coach (Duckey) na mawawala siya for two weeks of MPL, ginuide niya naman niya ako sa mga kailangan kong gawin. Yung mga experience niya shinare niya rin. Tapos sinunod ko naman yun…yung mga tips ni Coach Duckey,” said Coach Vren to members of the press on filling up for Duckey.

“Overall, talagang ginuide naman ako ni Coach Duckey kahit wala siya dito.”

In Game 1, Bren took control of the early goings after scoring a 3-0 wipe courtesy of Rowgien Stimpson “Owgwen” Unigo’s pinpoint set-up plays with the Khufra.

The M2 World Champions continued to mount the pressure. They then totally shut down Smart Omega the rest of the way en route to a 15-2 dominance on the kill tally

Owgwen got the MVP of the match honors with a 0-1-10 KDA.

KyleTzy then stole the spotlight in Game 2 with his vintage performance on Fanny. He easily took a 4-0-1 KDA in the early game.

Not even a shutdown in the 11th minute could stop KyleTzy, since he finished with a 4-1-6 KDA in the close-out win.
