MPL PH: Bren avenges first round loss to Echo

Bren Esports continued with their rampage and took out Echo, 2-1, for their seventh straight win in Week 5 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 11 on Saturday.

It was sweet revenge for Bren, who previously suffered a 2-0 sweep at the hands of the Orcas. They continue to hold on to the top spot with 21 points while sending Echo (19 pts) to their second loss.

Bren head coach Francis “Duckey” Glindro lauded his top assistant, who made the necessary adjustments in Game 3 after Echo took Game 2.

“Most of the time he’s being overshadowed kasi most of the time ako ang laging tinatanong. But the majority of our tactical preparations is actually with Vren,” he said.

“I really wanna give props to Vren kasi sobrang well prepared,” the national team head coach continued.

Bren led from start to finish in Game 1, with Marco “Super Marco” Requitano (Claude) imposing his will during the 9th-minute lord fight, scoring a double kill off a pinpoint execution of the blazing duet to anchor a 4-1 exchange.

Kyle Angelo “KyleTzy” Sayson (Hayabusa) also displayed mechanical prowess to outplay Echo and score a double kill during the 21st-minute lord fight to help Bren score a game-winning 4-2 trade-off and take the opener, 1-0.

In Game 2, KarlTzy opted to debut his Valentina jungle pick that translated into an easy early game where they secured all the turtle buffs to take a 6k gold lead after the 9th-minute lord take.

KarlTzy then nabbed two kills during the 17th-minute lord fight that touched off a 3-0 wipe for the equalizer, 1-1.

But veteran midlaner Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel refused to fold, going on a rampage in the early game highlighted by a triple kill during a 7th-minute skirmish to help Bren establish a 12-4 kill spread.

Pheww capped off his stellar play with another triple kill during the 18th-minute team fight to single-handedly score a 3-0 pick-off leading to the win.
