MPL PH: Blacklist emerges from the ashes, downs Minana

Blacklist International emerged from a deep slumber and secured a much-needed 2-1 victory over MINANA Evos in Week 5 of the MPL Philippines Season 13 on Saturday at the Shooting Gallery Studios.

The Codebreakers, who had lost five of their last six games, improved to 10 points, establishing enough separation for the sixth spot against Smart Omega, currently stuck at four points.

Blacklist exp laner Edward “Edward” Dapadap admitted hesitations heavily factored in their comeback loss in Game 2 despite establishing a commanding lead.

“Sana pinilit ko iend yung game nung around 22 minutes nung nagkla-clash sila sa lord, nag-def yung Natan tapos mabubuhay yung Vexana,” he said of their Game 2 loss. “Napaisip kasi ako nun eh kasi magde-def yung Natan dun na eventually iniwan niya rin.

“Yung Vexana naman pabuhay and alam kong made0def niya tapos hindi siya na0gdef. Nasayangan lang ako kasi parang maeend ko siya nun kasi nagpabalik-balik ako sa midlane nun eh,” he added.

Edward (Paquito) went on a rampage in a lopsided Game 1 affair, finishing with an immaculate 4-0-5 KDA to spearhead Blacklist’s 13-4 domination in the kill score during a 10-minute victory.

In Game 2, MINANA Evos erased a 9k gold deficit by leaning on Brain “SpiderMilez” Santos’ (Rafaela) healing to survive lengthy team fights before Jan “Domeng” Delmundo’s (Natan) double kill in the 25th minute capped off the comeback, resulting in a 1-1 tie.

The M4 world champions once again dominated the early game in Game 3 but took a more disciplined approach this time to secure their first win in the last five matches.
