Ben “Benthings” Maglaque starred as TNC handed RSG PH its first loss, 2-0, in the MPL Philippines Season Nine on Friday night.
The team claimed the second spot with 10 points through a 3-1 win-loss slate.
With his team down, Ben “Benthings” Maglaque (Chou) caught out Eman “EMANN” Sangco’s Beatrix past the 15-minute mark to get things going for TNC.
The crucial kill on EMANN led to a Luminous Lord take from TNC. This gave TNC the chance to take down both RSG PH’s top and middle lane inner turrets.
After defending their base, the RSG PH went for a Conceal play in the middle lane but failed to catch a player from TNC’s side. With this, TNC went for the counter engagement, instigating a clash that saw the team take out Dylan “Light” Catipon’s Edith.
Daniel “SDzyz” Chu (Ling) went on to finish the tight 9-10 Game One win in 19 minutes and 21 seconds.’
Robee “Yasuwo” Pormocille’s Clint recorded a game-high six kills along with a death and an assist while Benthings added six assists, a kill, and two deaths.
Benthings once again made his presence felt in Game Two, delaying Jhonard “Demonkite” Caranto’s Lancelot early in the match. He used the Iron Hook to reset the RSG PH jungler’s buffs.
This put Demonkite behind by two levels against SDzyz’s Aamon, who is armed with the Demon Slayer emblem.
Up by as much as 8K in the gold department past the 12-minute mark, TNC went for a free Luminous Lord take to set up the game-winning siege.
Yasuwo once again led TNC in kills with four along with an assist without a single death. Meanwhile, Benthings had seven assists and two deaths on the 9-5 Game Two win in 14 minutes and 25 seconds.
RSG PH slid to the third spot with a 3-1 standing along with nine markers.
TNC will take on ONIC PH next on Sunday at 6:00 PM. On the other hand, RSG PH will face the league-leading ECHO tomorrow also at 6:00 PM.
