MPL: Kyletzy unstoppable as Bren picks up first win at TNC’s expense

Bren Esports bounced back from its debut loss to ONIC PH after upsetting TNC, 2-0, for its first win in the MPL Philippines Season 10 at the ICITE Auditorium on Sunday.

The Season Six champions scored a three-man wipe at the 14th minute of Game One to finish off TNC. Four Bren Esports players then focused their attention on TNC’s base to complete its dominant win that saw rookie jungler Kyle “Kyletzy” Sayson’s Ling pop off with five kills and seven assists without a death.

Kyletzy served as the team’s one-man clean-up crew in the opener with Jomari “Jowms” Pingol’s Phoveus and Vincent “Pandora” Unigo’s Paquito serving up the early poke damage.

Looking to finish off the series, Bren Esports came out with a dominant performance in Game Two where Kyletzy’s Thamuz dominated the jungle to help his side establish an early lead that they never surrendered. He finished with a 3-0-1 KDA line.

Indeed, the performance against TNC was different from the one they showed against ONIC PH where they lost 1-2 no thanks to last-minute Hail Mary coming from Ralph “Rapidoot” Adrales’ Atlas.

“Atlas happened. Doon sa interview kanina no, Mara actually asked if stage jitters played a role, it actually did. Hindi naman siya maiiwasan particularly doon sa rookies. We have 2 rookies in the playing roster right now. Kahit ano pang sabihin nila na “Coach di ako kinakabahan. Coach kaya ko yan.” It’s easier said than done,” said Bren Esports coach Francis “Duckey” Glindro.

“Madali siyang sabihin but, deep inside subconsciously they still feel the pressure. Good thing is that they immediately acclimatized. Parang ngayon, it’s just a normal training day for them,” he added.

The M2 World Champions seized the second spot after the opening week with a 1-1 standing while TNC ended up at seventh place with a 0-2 card.

Bren Esports will take on ECHO as its next assignment on Friday at 8:00 PM while TNC looks to enter the win column against defending champion RSG PH earlier that day at 6:00 PM.
