MPL: BennyQT, Karl, Yawi make crucial Game Two play as ECHO scores sweep of Bren

ECHO went for a surprise backdoor play in Game Two to sweep Bren Esports, 2-0, in the second round of the MPL Philippines Season 10 regular season on Friday at the ICITE Auditorium.

The victory helped ECHO (7-2) tie RSG PH (6-3) at the second spot with 17 points each.

During the 13th minute Lord fight of Game One, Tristan ā€œYawiā€ Cabrera (Grock) caught Vincent ā€œJOY BOYā€ De Guzman (Chou) off guard with the Flicker-Wild Charge combo which put Bren Esports at a disadvantage.

Despite the absence of their roamer, Bren Esports still tried to contest the objective but Sanford ā€œSanfordā€ Vinuya (Fredrinn) managed to use his Energy Eruption on Kenneth ā€œSaxaā€ Fedellin (Paquito) which allowed Karl ā€œKarlTzyā€ Nepomuceno (Fanny) to secure the Lord and eventually, the win.

Alston ā€œSanjiā€ Pabico (Lylia) finished with five kills and eight assists against one death while Benedict ā€œBennyqtā€ Gonzales (Claude) added two kills and seven assists against a death in the 15-12 win in 20 minutes and 42 seconds.

In Game Two, Bren Esports took the lead mid-game with Jomari ā€œJowmā€ Pingol (Moskov) peaking at the right moment.

With the advantage now on their side, the M2 World Champions went for the Lord entering the 25th minute. However, Bennyqt (Beatrix), KarlTzy (Fanny) and Yawi (Chou), who was camping inside the bush near Bren Esports’ base, waited for the minions to move out before initiating the jaw-dropping backdoor play that sealed the win.

Bennyqt delivered five kills and three assists without a death in Game Two while Yawi had 10 assists and five deaths in 25 minutes of play.

Bren Esports kept the sixth spot with a 5-5 standing.

Aside from David ā€œFlapTzyā€ Canon, also making their respective debuts for Bren Esports, who was coming off a four-game winning streak, are JOY BOY, Saxa, and Dale ā€œStowmā€ Vidor.

ECHO looks to make it four consecutive wins against Omega Esports tomorrow, Saturday at 5:00 PM while Bren Esports looks to return to the win column against Blacklist International on the same day at 7:30 PM.
