Mike Nieto is at the start of a new journey.
Rain or Shine has traded the 6-foot-2 guard out of Ateneo de Manila University by Rain or Shine to Converge for two future second-round draft picks.
The picks are for the PBA Season 49 and 50 drafts.
Nieto was part of the 2019 Gilas draft.
Nieto played four conferences with the Elasto Painters.
His best campaign came in the recent Philippine Cup, putting up norms of 11.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.
However, his minutes dipped in the Commissioner’s and Governors’ Cups.
In the last conference, he only played five games.
Still, Nieto is grateful for the opportunity given to him by Yeng Guiao and Rain or Shine.
“Sobrang saya ko pero naiyak ako nung nagpaalam na ako sa team last Friday nung nag-usap kami ni Coach Yeng (Guiao). I’m grateful to Rain or Shine kasi sila ang nagbigay ng confidence sa akin at nagpabida sa akin nung rookie year ko,” he said.
“Pero I’m happy for this new opportunity.”
