MDL PH: Smart Omega Neos take slim lead in Group B

Smart Omega Neos averted a massive collapse against Onic Arsenals to notch a 2-1 escape and gain the top spot in Group B of the Mobile Legends Development League (MDL) Philippines Season 1 on Thursday.

Coming off a dominant victory, the Neos looked poised for a sweep after posting a huge 16-5 spread on the kill tally but Marc Wayne “Waing” Ortiz (Martis) stole away the 14th-minute lord that instantly sparked a complete reverse.

Goldlaner Christian “West” Mangabay though made sure to avoid a reverse sweep as he gunned down a 5-1-4 KDA with the Beatrix pick in the close-out victory.

Omega (5-2) now leads Group B with 14pts, holding a slim edge over Echo Proud (4-2) who now have 13pts after a 2-0 of Blacklist Academy in today’s match-ups.

Goldlaner Jhonville “Outplayed” Villar and Jaypee “Jaypee” Dela Cruz split the match MVPs for Echo who delivered a rampaging performance in today’s one-sided affair.

In Group A, RSG Ignite secured their third straight win after a 2-0 clean sweep of TNC Neo.

They solidified their grip on the second spot in Group A, improving to 14pts on five wins against only two losses.

John Darry “1rrad” Abarquez (Hayabusa) went on a killing spree in the final game en route to a monster 13-1-1 KDA.
