After a lengthy wait, Maverick Ahanmisi has finally made his decision.
According to multiple sources closely monitoring the situation, the 6-foot-2 combo guard signed a three-year, max deal with Ginebra early last week.
In fact, Ahanmisi reported to the Ginebra camp last Friday.
Due to his inclusion in the 2015 draft class, he was an unrestricted free agent before signing.
His contract with Converge expired last June 7.
As early as a month later, Ahanmisi had already signed a contract with the San Miguel Corporation, as a source informed Tiebreaker Times, but management had not yet determined his placement.
However, with Jeremiah Gray out for the season and LA Tenorio still in recovery, he was placed in Ginebra.
Definitely, Ahanmisi is a huge addition to Ginebra’s already stacked roster.
During the 2022-23 season, Ahanmisi played in 38 games, averaging 13.72 points, 5.94 rebounds, 3.78 assists, and 1.22 steals per game.
His best performance came in the 2023 Governors’ Cup when he posted impressive statistics of 19.92 points, 6.58 rebounds, 3.08 assists, and 1.17 steals per game.
