Mars Alba released by Choco Mucho, ends three-conference stint with Titans

Choco Mucho officially announced the departure of setter Mars Alba on Monday, putting an end to swirling online rumors about her status with the team.

The Flying Titans announced the development a day after wrapping up the Batangas leg of the 2025 PVL On Tour, where they split their two matches — picking up a win against Galeries Tower before falling to Nxled.

“Your exceptional playmaking and court smarts will remain significant contributions to the team. You’ll always be a Titan. Good luck on your next chapter,” said Choco Mucho in a Facebook post.

The 25-year-old playmaker joined Choco Mucho following the sudden disbandment of F2 Logistics at the tail end of the 2023 PVL season.

She played for a total of three conferences with the squad, which included a finals appearance in the 2024 All-Filipino Conference where they lost to Creamline in a hard-fought two-game series.

Alba had been a reliable backup for starting setter Deanna Wong, providing steady playmaking off the bench and stepping up when called upon throughout her stint with the Flying Titans.

The De La Salle University product is currently with Alas Pilipinas in Vietnam, representing the country in the 2025 VTV Cup.

With Alba out, Choco Mucho will lean on Deanna Wong and veteran Jem Ferrer to anchor the playmaking chores in the ongoing preseason tilt, at least until seventh overall pick Tia Andaya rejoins the squad following her national team duties.
