Marion Magat admits ‘gigil’ got the best of him versus Alaska

It’s no secret that Marion Magat has been flourishing under coach Yeng Guiao in the NLEX Road Warriors, so what better way to show his improvement than versus his former team Alaska Aces?

The lanky 6-foot-7 slotman got that opportunity on Wednesday. But unfortunately, he failed to show out.

Averaging 6.8 points and 5.6 rebounds prior to Wednesday, Magat only mustered two points in three shot attempts, along with seven rebounds and an assist against one turnover.

For Magat, it was his extreme eagerness that got the best of him.

“Medyo gigil kaya ‘di ko napakita laro ko. Medyo gigil ako e,” said the former NU Bulldog.

“Maganda rin sana kung maganda yung napakita ko kanina. Kanina absent talaga ako sa laro ko.”

Still, Magat managed to flash a smile even with such a sour outing. The Road Warriors churned out a masterful performance over the Milkmen, 91-70, to end their two-game skid.

“Masaya din na nanalo kami,” he said.

Now, Magat hopes that the Road Warriors will be able to keep their momentum in their last three games, which they aim to win to better their playoff chances.

“Sana tuloy-tuloy yung laro namin. This coming games dapat pagbutihin namin kasi crucial na eh. Dapat every game maganda nilalaro namin.”
