Marc Pingris definitely knows a lot about esports, and so he knows too how to use such platform for a greater cause.
The revered PBA veteran took to Instagram Monday and helped promote the Lockdown Games, an online event organized by esports giant Mineski that has the frontliners of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic in mind.
According to Pingris’ post, the event aims to raise PHP one-million for the UP Medical Foundation.
The event, moreover, also shows support to the Department of Health’s #stayhome campaign that encourages Filipinos to stay at home during this enhanced community quarantine to prevent further spreading of the virus.
“Meron na tayong magagawa, masusuportahan pa natin ang stay home campaign ng DOH, at makakatulong pa tayo sa fronliners. Help us raise one-million pesos para sa UP Medical Foundation,” he wrote.
Games that will be played are the Marvel Super Wars from March 24-26 and Call of Duty Mobile on March 30-April 2.
The Magnolia forward also wrote that there will be a DOTA 2 Showmatch involving him, San Miguel star and his good pal June Mar Fajardo, Ginebra’s Japeth Aguilar, and NLEX main man Kiefer Ravena on April 6.
“Also, panoorin kami nina Japeth, Abai, at Kiefer sa DOTA2 Showmatch sa April 6, 5:00 pm. Abangan ang iba pang detalye.”
