DOHA — Scorching heat welcomed Manila Chooks TM as it held its first practice at the Al Gharafa Sports Complex here.
“Sobrang init,” said team captain Alvin Pasaol, as the temperature during the one-hour session hit a high of 85 degrees Fahrenheit (29.4 Celsius).
Unlike the first foray of the Philippines here last year, the quartet of Pasaol, Joshua Munzon, Troy Rike, and Alvin Pasaol were unable to cross train with Japanese teams Kamakura NatureMade and Yoyogi Crayon.Exe, whom they rotated the three courts in the venue with.
The organizers implemented strict health protocols the whole time.
Still, the burly forward out of Davao City remains confident that they will be ready when they face Liman and Lusail on Friday in pool action.
“Siguro nasa eighty-percent kami ngayon. Maganda naman ‘yung practice kanina kasi nagawa naman namin ‘yung gusto namin,” said Pasaol.
“By Friday, ready na kami.”
Manila Chooks TM will close out the day with a weights session at 10:00PM (Manila time).
