Macandili grateful to Marano, Galang for holding fort for her

After missing the team’s first two games, F2 Logistics star libero Dawn Macandili finally returned to action on Tuesday afternoon against United Auctioneers Inc-Army.

Macandili collected a game-high 13 excellent digs in her first game back to help the Cargo Movers score their breakthrough win in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference, 25-17, 25-21, 25-16 against the Troopers at the PhilSports Arena.

The La Salle standout said that she’s glad to finally be back on the court with her teammates after going through an undisclosed injury in the past weeks.

“Masaya syempre finally kasi na-release na ako to play again and to be with my teammates,” said Macandili, the 2019 Open Conference Best Libero.

“Sobrang masaya, sobrang taas ng adrenaline ko and nireremind ko lang yung sarili ko din na kalmahan lang kasi makakaapekto siya sa laro,” she added.

With Macandili and CJ Woo out, Aby Maraño and Ara Galang stepped up and played as liberos in their opening day loss to Chery Tiggo. Dzi Gervacio then switched places with Maraño in the team’s second consecutive defeat against Choco Mucho.

For their efforts, Macandili expressed her utmost gratitude to her teammates for holding the fort while she was recuperating from the injury.PVL-Reinforced-2022-F2-vs.-Army-Dawn-Macandili-0770 Macandili grateful to Marano, Galang for holding fort for her News PVL Volleyball - philippine sports news

“Syempre thankful ako sa teammates ko kasi medyo no choice rin sila na mag-step up and I believe na sobrang nagampanan naman nila yung role ko,” said the reigning Open Conference Best Libero.

Now back, Macandili said that she is planning to take things one game at a time as she looks to help the Cargo Movers continue their winning ways against PLDT on Tuesday.

“Yung mindset namin ngayon since galing kami sa talo is to focus din one game at a time para at least ‘di ba yung adjustments namin going towards the goal, parang paunti-unti hindi pwedeng biglain.”
