M4: Yawi returns as Echo clinches upper bracket slot

Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera finally made his debut as ECHO punched its ticket to the upper bracket playoffs after shutting down RSG SG, 1-0, to close the M4 World Championship group stage, Wednesday night at the Bali United Studio in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The star roamer sat out the first two games of the group stage after getting embroiled in an alleged cheating scandal. He collected a game-high 10 assists to go along with a kill and two deaths in the 16-8 win in 15 minutes.

Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya (Grock), meanwhile, sustained his fine form with five kills and a death while Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales (Karrie) had three kills, a death, and six assists.

ECHO finished Group C with an immaculate 3-0 record. They will face the second-ranked team in Group D in the playoffs.

Earlier in the day, the MPL PH runner-up took down Occupy Thrones of Egypt.
