Bren Esports’ star jungler Kyle Angelo “KyleTzy” Sayson once again had to overcome shortness of breath during their series against Blacklist International on Friday, which they concluded in a dominant sweep to secure the top seed in the playoffs.
The MPL Philippines Season 10 Rookie of the Year revealed that this has been a recurring incident whenever they face the M3 world champions.
“Everytime po na kalaban po namin yung Blacklist, parang hinihika po kasi ako.
“Parang pag kalaban po sila, yung Blacklist, parang kinakabahan po kasi ako. Kaya parang ganun nga po, every after po ng game parang hirap po ko huminga,” he said.
Way back in Season 10, KyleTzy also suffered from breathing issues during their regular season matchup against Blacklist International.
He started having difficulty breathing during the drafting phase of Game 2, which prompted Bren Esports to report the case to the league operations, resulting in delays to the start of the match.
Similarly, Bren went on to take the win over Blacklist that time.
“Nung nanalo kami sa Blacklist ng isang game, parang naha-hype po ako nun tapos ayun po yung nag-cause kung bakit nahihirapan ako huminga,” he recalled.
“Tapos ano po yun e, dahil sa crowd,” he replied when asked what possibly causes him to hyperventilate.
He didn’t look as much affected this time, though, as he finished with the MVP in Game 1, courtesy of an immaculate 8-0-7 KDA on the Fanny pick, then a 3-0-11 KDA with Baxia in Game 2.
With their place in the postseason already secured, Bren will look to improve on their 4th-place finish last season in an effort to return to the international stage after failing to finish in the top two of MPL PH in every season since their M2 World Championship conquest
