Just minutes after the pursuits of Nikko Huelgas and John Chicano, their female counterparts followed suit to finish off the country’s sweep of the discipline, Monday morning at the Water Sports Complex Presint 6, Putrajaya, Malaysia.
Kim Mangrobang ended one better in this edition of the Southeast Asian Games and captured the gold in the women’s individual event. She clocked in 21:10 minutes in swimming, 1:06:56 in cycling, and 42:20 in running to bag gold.
2015 champion and former University of the Philippines standout Maria Claire Adorna made it another 1-2 finish, crossing the finish line just a few minutes after Mangrobang with 21:09 (swim), 1:07:01 (bike), and 49:56 (run).
The two golds and two silvers push Team Philippines’ medal tally to three golds, four silvers, and two bronzes.
