Kiefer Ravena endured his worst weekend series in the 2021-22 B.League season in Shiga’s 80-90 loss to Shinshu, Sunday at White Ring.
Ravena figured in early foul trouble, finishing the game with seven points on 2-of-8 shooting with five turnovers.
The 6-foot former NLEX Road Warrior averaged 6.5 points on 4-of-15 shooting with 3.0 turnovers in the series against the Brave Warriors.
Even without Ravena early, the Lakestars held a 45-34 edge at the half, thanks to the 16 points dropped by Daichi Nomoto in the frame.
Shinshu, though, turned things around. They saw a huge 34-point third quarter with 13 points of Japanese rising star Yuta Okada.
The Brave Warriors sustained the double-digit lead in the final frame.
Shinshu, winners of seven of their last eight games, rose to 8-5 in the west while dropping Shiga to 6-8.
Okada had 27 points in the contest, while Ko Kumagai had 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field.
Wayne Marshall and Anthony McHenry both added 10 points each as well.
Matthew Aquino was not lined up for the second straight game in lieu of Louis Kurihara.
Novar Gadson paced Shiga with 22 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Ovie Soko got 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Sean O’Mara added 17 points and seven rebounds.
Aquino and Shinshu will continue their campaign in the Emperor’s Cup on December 1 against Mikawa.
Ravena and Shiga, on the other hand, will have a long break before facing Shibuya on December 5 at Aoyama Gakuin Memorial Hall.
