Kevin Belingon suffers first career KO loss in ONE title eliminator

SINGAPORE — In a battle between two of the hardest hitters in ONE’s bantamweight division, it was “Hands of Stone” who won over Team Lakay striking.

John Lineker dealt Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon his first career knockout loss during ONE: Inside The Matrix, Friday evening at Singapore Indoor Stadium.

“Belingon is a very strong opponent, but I trained highly to be here. I want to be champion. This is the reason I came here, for the knockout,” said Lineker, a 16-fight UFC veteran.

Already dominating the opening round, the Brazilian turned it up in the second stanza. He rained body shots that weakened the former ONE Bantamweight World Champion.

An uppercut knocked Belingon down to start the second round. A quick flurry on a turtled-up Belingon then stopped the fight a minute and 16 seconds into the round.

Belingon suffered his third straight loss to drop to 20-8. Moreover, he handed Lineker the keys to challenging Bibiano Fernandes for the belt.

“I want the champion. Hey Bibiano Fernandes! I’m coming for you baby,” said Linker, who climbed to 33-9.
