Rhenz Abando is finally finding his deadly form in the Korean Basketball League.
The NCAA Season 97 Most Valuable Player dropped an all-around line in Anyang KGC’s 80-78 win over Wonju DB in the ongoing season, Friday at Wonju Gymnasium.
Abando, a former star in University of Santo Tomas and Colegio de San Juan de Letran, tallied 20 points on 4-of-10 shooting from the field and 6-of-7 from the free throw line, six blocks, three rebounds, and a steal.
It was a bounce back win for the league-leading Anyang KGC, who were coming off an 85-92 loss to RJ Abarrientos and Ulsan Hyundai Mobis.
Oh Sekeun also supplied 20 points, six rebounds, and three assists to support Abando while Omari Spellman added 13 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks.
Doo Kyungmin led the Promy with 18 points while Dewan Hernandez got 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Ethan Alvano tallied 12 points, seven rebounds, and five assists as well for Wonju DB, who fell to 6-5 for fifth.
Over at Jeonju Indoor Stadium, Changwon LG escaped Jeonju KCC, 63-62.
Justin Gutang, who is also playing for the Sakers’ D-League team, finished with three points in four minutes of action.
Yoon Wonsang led the Sakers with 21 points on five treys while Assem Marei added 12 points and 19 rebounds.
The Egis, who fell to 4-8, were led by Lee Seounghyun with 15 points.
Heo Ung got 14 points, seven assists, and six rebounds while Ricardo Ratliffe was held down to just 13 points and 15 rebounds.
