KBL: Anyang continues to break Abando in, wastes Alvano’s 22-point game

Anyang KGC continued its hot start in the 2022-23 Korean Basketball League Season, downing Wonju DB, 99-84, Thursday at Wonju General Gymnasium.

In just his second game, Rhenz Abando went scoreless in six minutes but still got two assists, a rebound, and a steal as he still recovers from a hip injury he sustained in the preseason.

Still, the firepower of the 7-1 squad proved too much for Promy, who fell to 5-3 for fourth.

Omari Spellman led KGC with 25 points and 11 rebounds while Oh Sekeun fired 19 points with seven rebounds.

Byeon Joonhyeong (13 points), Bae Byungjun (12), Moon Seonggon (11), and Park Jihoon (10) all scored in double-figures as well for the hot-shooting Anyang.

Ethan Alvano led DB with 22 points, three rebounds, and three assists while Dewan Hernandez added 16 points.

Over at Daegu Gym, KOGAS fell to Suwon KT, 81-97.

SJ Belangel was limited to just nine points on 2-of-11 shooting from the field as the Pegasus fell to a 2-5 record.

Lee Daesung produced his normal numbers, tallying 20 points and three assists. Murphy Holloway and Jeong Hyogeun added 15 and 14 points, respectively.

EJ Anosike was a monster for the Sonicboom, who are looking to tap a UAAP guard by December, dropping 34 points and eight rebounds.

Jeong Seongwoo added 16 points on three triples, helping Suwon KT notch its second win in seven games.
