KBL: Abando, Anyang score 56-point Game 1 win vs Goyang


Rhenz Abando and Anyang KGC showed no rust, whipping Goyang 99-43 in Game One of the best-of-five 2023 KBL semifinals, Thursday at Anyang Indoor Gymnasium.

Anyang flat-out dominated the Carrot Jumpers, leading 27-9 early before limiting the visitors to just seven points in the final frame.

Game Two will be on Saturday at the same venue.

Abando only played 10 minutes in the contest, finishing with just two points, a rebound, an assist, and a block.

Six KGC players scored in double-figures with Omari Spellman leading the way with 22 points, five rebounds, and five assists.

Park Jihoon and Han Seunghee scored 15 and 14 points, respectively.

Bae Byungjun (13 points), Jeong Junwon (12), and Byeon Junhyeong (10) also delivered for Anyang.

Only Jeon Seonghyen scored in double-figures for Goyang, who shot just 20.6-percent from the field.
