Stallion Laguna and Kaya Iloilo kicked off the 2025 PFF Women’s League season with dominant victories, Saturday at the SM Mall of Asia Football Pitch.
Reigning cup champions Stallion secured a 2-0 win over University of the Philippines, while defending league champions Kaya dismantled University of Santo Tomas with a commanding 8-0 triumph.
Stallion wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, as Chandler McDaniel set up Sierra Castles for the opening goal in the 8th minute.
Kala McDaniel then doubled the lead in the 33rd minute, converting another assist from the national team standout.
Meanwhile, Kaya, runners-up to last year’s cup tournament, showed they are moving on on from the heartbreak of missing out on a league and cup double with a statement victory.
Reigning top scorer Julissa Cisneros made an emphatic start to her 2025 campaign, netting a hat-trick with goals in the 8th, 47th, and 68th minutes.
Newcomer Julia Humphreys added a brace, scoring in the 40th and 79th minutes.
Team captain Hali Long, Janly Fontamillas, and Dionesa Tolentin also found the back of the net in the 10th, 43rd, and 64th minutes, respectively, completing an overwhelming performance against UAAP Season 87 bronze medalist UST.
This weekend, Kaya Iloilo will host league newcomer Capital1 at the same Pasay venue.
