KarlTzy savors second SEA Games gold amid tougher competition

Widely acknowledged as the G.O.A.T. of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno has once again shown why his name is spoken with reverence across the global MLBB scene.

From a teenage prodigy who first carried the nation to glory on home soil, he has grown into the embodiment of excellence and unshakeable grit on MLBB’s biggest stages.

KarlTzy now basks in glory once more after claiming his second Southeast Asian Games gold medal.

“Sobrang saya and sobrang nakakaproud na pangalawang gold ko na ngayon. Mas iba na kasi ngayon eh. Mas mahirap na manalo ngayon kumpara nung dati kasi sobrang complicated na ng Mobile Legends,” he expressed.

The Team Liquid PH jungler not only ended Indonesia’s dominance on the international scene back in 2019, but also piloted the Philippines’ rise as a global MLBB powerhouse.

Since capturing SEA Games gold in 2019, KarlTzy has built his legacy through sustained excellence, achieving two M-Series world championships, one Mid-Season Cup title, and five MPL Philippines crowns — accomplishments earned across multiple metas, rosters, and eras of the game.

He admitted that even he has been surprised by the longevity of his success, noting that other regions have steadily closed the gap over the years.

“Nung time kasi na yun (2019), Indonesia talaga yung naghahari sa international scene eh. Ngayon po parang pantay-pantay na lahat eh,” he said.

Representing the country carried a weight and meaning unlike any club title, and KarlTzy dedicated the triumph to all those who supported SIBOL throughout the journey.

“Para po sa lahat ng Pinoy na sumusuporta sa amin tsaka sa girlfriend ko ang family ko. Thank you for supporting,” he said.

KarlTzy and the rest of the TLPH squad will have little time to rest as they shift their focus to the M7 World Championship, which opens on January 10.
