Fresh off his most coveted crown in MSC 2025 and his fourth MPL Philippines title, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno and Team Liquid Philippines are now on the verge of a feat no team has ever achieved: the Golden Road.
But for the veteran jungler, thoughts of completing the Golden Road are far from his mind as he and his team focus on defending their title.
“Para sakin di ko tinitinginan yung Golden Road ngayon.
“Ayokong mag-tunnel vision dun kasi malas daw yun sa mga teams na mag-go-Golden Road, and hinahayaan ko nalang mangyari yung mga bagay-bagay. Tapos nag-iimprove lang kami lagi, okay na ko dun,” KarlTzy said in an exclusive interview with Tiebreaker Times.
For the decorated jungler, the priority remains on the team’s steady growth and maintaining their playoff momentum.
“Sobrang importante ngayon (securing playoffs) kase ngayon kami yung isa sa mga teams na naka playoffs secured agad, and sobrang laking confidence boost niya samin. Tapos alam naman naming nag-iiba kami pagdating ng playoffs,” he shared.
KarlTzy highlighted their midseason adjustments in team dynamics, which helped them secure a playoff berth by Week 7.
“Inayos lang namin yung dapat ayusin gaya ng drafting, rotations, tsaka compositions,” he explained.
Despite steering clear of Golden Road discussions, the two-time world champion acknowledged that every team in the playoffs presents a challenge for their title defense.
With two weeks left in the regular season, KarlTzy and Team Liquid PH are preparing for a tough stretch as they aim to peak at the right time for the playoffs.
