B.League: Juan GDL, Tokyo Z go down to 0-12 in B.League

Juan Gomez de Liaño and Tokyo Z suffered another second-half collapse, absorbing an 80-91 loss at the hands of Koshigaya in the 2021-22 B.League Division II season, Saturday at Wing Hat Kasukabe.

Just like in their past few games that saw Gomez de Liaño start, Earthfriends were in it for the first half. Then they lost control of the game late.

With the game knotted at 70-all with 7:21 left, the Alphas went on a 13-2 spurt to take full control of the game. Shun Matsumaya, Tomoya Hasegawa, Cherif Sow, and Isaac Butts all contributed to the rally.

Butts went a perfect 12-of-12 from the field for 25 points to go along with 15 boards.

Craig Brackins also had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Meanwhile, Hasegawa added 14 points built on four treys.

The Alphas rose to 9-3 in the East.

Gomez de Liaño played 23 minutes in the game, finishing with six assists and no turnovers along with three rebounds, two points, a block, and a steal.

Eddy Norelia had 16 points and seven rebounds for the 0-12 Earthfriends. Mark Burton got 15 points – all from downtown.

Pat Andree got 14 points and seven rebounds, while Joshua Crawford added 13 points and seven rebounds.

The two squads face off again tomorrow.
