The second batch of Gilas Pilipinas pool players has arrived in Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna, Friday afternoon.
Cadet Juan Gomez de Liano and PBA pros Troy Rosario, Roger Pogoy, and Raul Soyud had their RT-PCR tests done already in Alabang before entering the Calambubble.
Gilas team manager Gabby Cui also entered the state-of-the-art facility as well.
In there, they will join Kiefer Ravena, CJ Perez, Justin Chua, Isaac Go, Matt Nieto, Mike Nieto, Rey Suerte, Javi Gomez de Liaño, Dave Ildefonso, Justine Baltazar, Calvin Oftana, William Navarro, and Kemark Carino in Gilas’ preparations for the Clark window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers from February 18-22.
Gomez de Liano, who is coming off a dental operation, played in all three games so far in the Qualifiers, averaging 12.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists.
Rosario and Pogoy both played during the opening window of the Qualifiers with the former tallying seven points and five rebounds while the latter dropping 16 points and six boards.
Soyud, a seven-year pro out of University of the Philippines, is a Gilas first-timer.
Outside of Dwight Ramos — who is still in mandatory quarantine despite arriving last week — and Kai Sotto — who is trying to get back to the country, no one else is expected to enter the Calambubble making the pool a 19-man delegation.
