Joshua Umandal’s stint with Bani Jamra ends

While two men’s volleyball players are leaving the country in Madz Gampong and Jayvee Sumagaysay, one is returning home.

Joshua Umandal’s stint with Bani Jamra ended last Wednesday. He is currently in transit to fly back home.

Umandal led the country last January 14.

The 6-foot-2 spiker from University of Santo Tomas played six games with Bani Jamra in the 2021-22 Isa bin Rashid Volleyball League season, going 1-5 there.

Bani Jamra ended their league campaign with a 1-9 record.

Despite playing just one month there, Umandal is grateful for the experience.

“Thank you Bani Jamra for the opportunity to play for your team,” he expressed. “This was my first time playing outside my country and I feel blessed to do it with you. I learned a lot from playing in the league and I will bring the lessons with me as I move on to my next chapter in volleyball.

“I truly appreciate this wonderful experience. Thanks for the memories. Till next time!”

Is a stint in the V.League in the cards? It certainly looks like a possibility.
