Dasma’s Gampong, Sumagaysay signs with Malaysia’s Sarawak


Two more Filipino men’s volleyball players look set to ply their trade in an international league.

Middle blocker Jayvee Sumagaysay and opposite hitter Madz Gampong have signed with Sarawak for the 2022 Malaysia Volleyball League season.

Sumagaysay, who stands at 6-foot-1, is one of the top middle blockers in the country. The University of Santo Tomas product is a three-time Spikers’ Turf Best Middle Blocker.

Sumagaysay and Gampong helped lead the squad to the top of the nationals, capping their campaign with a 3-1 win over Air Force.

Sumagaysay copped the Best Middle Blocker plum in the tournament.

The two are set to join the Hornbill next month.
