Jonathan Grey out for season due to torn patellar tendon

A freak accident has cost Jonathan Grey a year in his young career.

The third-year pro out of Saint Benilde was diagnosed with a torn patellar tendon on his left knee.

The 6-foot-3 guard suffered the injury during one of Northport’s practices. He went for a dunk but ended up landing badly, causing the tear.

With this, Grey will be out for 10 to 12 months.

Grey played six games this conference, averaging 9.5 points, 2.33 assists, and 1.83 rebounds per game.

Also on the sidelines is Nico Elordem who will miss one month. He suffered a slight tear at his left hamstring, specifically part of the semitendinosus.

These injuries caused NorthPort to pull the trigger on a trade involving Stanley Pringle and the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
