Jhygrus Laude does it all as Asia’s Lashes TM nips Nailtalk-Savio

Asia’s Lashes Tomas Morato spanked Nailtalk-St. Dominic Savio in the third frame to pluck the 77-62 victory, Monday in the 2019 PBA D-League Second Conference at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Jhygruz Laude flung 16 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals off the bench, including the layup that gave the Soldiers a 17-point lead, 79-56, with 2:08 to play.

Rickson Gerero pinched in 10 points and four boards, while Francis Camacho also scored 10 in the win.

It was a different Asia’s Lashes squad which came after the halftime break, slapping 31 points in the third quarter alone to flip a 26-32 deficit after the first two frames to a commanding 57-42 lead after three.

“Sinabihan ko sila sa dugout na i-execute ang play namin kasi bine-breakdown kami,” professed coach Alvin Grey. “Iniisip nila mahina yung team na kalaban namin, pero lahat dito competitive.”

The win allowed the Soldiers to bounce back from their 107-77 defeat to CEU two weeks ago as they stood firm with a 2-1 record in Group A.

Cameroonian big man Rudolph Mienlam poured 15 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks, while Mike Calomot got 10 points and three boards.

Their efforts, however, were not enough to give a facelift on Nailtalk-Savio’s 0-3 record.

The Scores:

Asia’s Lashers 77 – Laude 16, Gerero 10, Camacho 10, Celada 7, Sarao 7, Dela Cruz 5, Alban 5, Apreku 4, Delfinado 4, Cojuangco 4, Deles 3, Batungbakal 2, Dumlao 0, Reyes 0.

Nailtalk-Savio 62 — Mienlam 15, Diaz 12, Calomot 10, Ibarra 9, Delos Reyes 7, Boac 7, Rublico 2, Arellano 0, Agustin 0, Ledama 0, Tenedero 0.
