Javi GDL gets limited min as Ibaraki downed by Kawasaki in B.League

Javi Gomez de Liaño and Ibaraki figured in a slow start, suffering a 67-93 loss to Kawasaki in the 2021-22 B.League season, Sunday at Adastria Mito Arena.

After a strong 13-point outing yesterday, Gomez de Liaño saw  restricted minutes in their second round outing versus the Brave Thunders. He played just 11 minutes, going 0-of-4 from the field with three rebounds.

Meanwhile, the Robots started flat, falling behind 22-9 early and never recovering.

Then in the third quarter, Matt Janning gained the hot hand for Kawasaki, scoring 11 of his side’s 33 points to gain a 78-53 lead to blow the game wide open.

Nick Fazekas led Kawasaki with 19 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. Janning had 16 points, while Jordan Heath finished with 18 points, six rebounds, and three blocks.

The Brave Thunders went up to 11-3 in the east.

Ibaraki, who dropped their third straight game to fall to 2-12, was paced by the 16 points of Marc Trasolini. Eric Jacobsen also got 13 points and nine rebounds.

The Robots will next face Chiba on December 4 at the Funabashi Arena.
