The first wave of Filipino players that will compete in the 2021-22 B.League has finally been completed on Friday evening.
With the announcement of Matthew Aquino’s signing to Shinshu, the cast is complete with nine Filipino players.
Thirdy Ravena (San-En), Kiefer Ravena (Shiga), Kobe Paras (Niigata), Juan Gomez de Liano (Tokyo Z), and Bobby Ray Parks (Nagoya) have already played while Dwight Ramos (Toyama) is set to make his debut on Saturday against the Diamond Dolphins.
This leaves Javi Gomez de Liano (Ibaraki), Kemark Carino (Aomori), and Aquino (Shinshu) as the only players yet to make their B.League debuts.
Javi will only clear quarantine on October 20 and will most likely get to suit up when the Robots face San-En on October 23 and 24 at Kamisu Disaster Prevention Arena.
Good pals Carino and Aquino, on the other hand, have completed their 14-day quarantines but will not suit up this weekend against Nara and Tokyo, respectively.
Carino will make his Wat’s debut on Week 4 when they take on Kagawa at the Zentsuji Civic Gymnasium while Aquino will also suit up during that week when the Brave Warriors face Osaka at Ookini Arena Maishima.
Yes, come Week 4, all nine Filipino imports will be spread across Japan.
